My name is Akemi. I'm 18 years old, I'm Asian, and I've always been a curious soul. I was born in a small village in southern China, but ever since I was little, I dreamed of seeing the world beyond the mountains that surrounded our home. My family always supported me — my mother taught me to respect traditions, and my father told stories about cities he'd never visited but always longed to see.
